Today I didn't accomplish a whole lot at home. I have laundry to do, cleaning to do, trash to take out, but instead I ordered some pizza, watched a movie -- was quite good actually (
Full Ride, it's available on
Netflix). Then I started creating a new blog (this one). I was trying to come up with a good name. All the blogs I've done in the past have been about the journey I was on or the weight I was trying to lose. I decided to be more general with this one.
I considered names like Great Big Sea Groupie but thought that might be a bit much. I also thought about using a Great Big Sea song title as the blog heading, but none quite worked.
So I opted for a Kitchen Party -- No, I did not start selling Pampered Chef or even really start cooking for that matter... a Kitchen Party is
"Drinkers and carousers crowd around a woodstove or step dance across thefloor, while a few musicians sit in the corner trading songs and tunes.
Now don't worry, I'm not doing anything that crazy in my apartment. Tonight's explorations took me to the Great Big Sea website where I was once again reminded of how happy they make me. They are my elixir. (I used to refer to them as my drug, but after a recent episode of
Murdoch Mysteries, I learned that elixir is a much better term, it's a substance believed to cure all ills.) They "strive to strike a balance,
retaining the spontaneity and intimacy of the kitchen party while bringing
their work to concert halls...,"

8 concerts I can attest that Great Big Sea is successful! As I mentioned
Great Big Sea is my elixir, with the exception of my most recent trip to
Kennywood, I really can't remember a time in the past 5 years that I have been happier than at Great Big Sea Concerts. Their music moves me, inspires me, and brings a smile to my face! I figured I should have a HAPPY place online to sort through..life.
